According to SolarPower Europe's latest EU Solar Market Update 2026 Mid-YearAnalysis, the EU solar market grew slightly in the first half of 2026 compared with the same period last year.
Solar is also playing a bigger role in Europe's electricity system. In June, solar reached a record 25% share of EU electricity generation, becoming the largest source of electricity for the month.
But when we look at different countries, we can see a different picture.
Germany and Spain remain major solar markets, while France, Italy and several Central and Eastern European markets are developing with different market conditions, policies and opportunities.
For us, this is quite interesting.
It shows that Europe's solar market is not moving in just one direction.
In some countries, rooftop solar is growing fast.
In others, large solar projects are still an important part of the market
Some markets are still growing quickly, while others are starting to think more about how to make better use of the solar power they already have.
So we think the next stage of solar will be a little different.
It is not only about:“How many more solar panels can we install?”
It is also about:“How can we make each project work better?”
After working with different markets, we see that every country has its own situation.
Different roofs. Different installation conditions. Different market needs.
There may not be one solution for every market.
And we think this is what makes the next stage of the solar industry interesting.
